NJLA SRS Meeting Minutes
September 9, 2025
Attendance: Larissa Brookes, Sarah Lester, Emily MacLeod, Mary Catherine Sudiak, John-Paul Cirelli
Meeting called to order at 3:05pm.
Larissa spoke about an NJLTA presentation tentatively scheduled for October 22nd at 7:00pm. Three presenters have expressed interest thus far, but we are seeking others, specifically people from South Jersey and outside of the BCCLS consortium.
Sarah suggested reaching out to Jen Nelson to inquire about libraries that have received construction grants to see if they might be interested in participating in the presentation. She’ll give any names to Larissa, who will contact the library or libraries.
Instead of focusing on the importance of sustainability, this presentation will be about what specific libraries can do to become more sustainable. Larissa provided a brief overview of the slides being used for the presentation.
The question of who can attend the presentation was brought up. Do they need to be NJLTA members? Larissa will find out answer.
Sarah volunteered to serve as a liaison for trustees looking for LEED certification.
Mary asked if we would be doing a regular program for February’s NJLA Conference rather than just a proposed pre-conference presentation, but the consensus is that not enough of our section members are attending the conference to warrant a full program.
